One problem that every Christian faces is the issue of the “old self.” Our old self is the person we were, before coming to faith in Jesus. The problem with this old self is that we tend to put them back on, like a comfortable suit of clothes. We have been given a “new self” and God expects us to put this self on whenever and wherever we are.
Humans are weird–we are easily addicted to things. All of humanity shares one addiction, that of being addicted to sin. It makes each of us somewhat broken, and until we are reconciled to God, fully, we will remain broken.
