Dealing With Frustration

  • Upcoming Events @ Central Church

The Advisory Board will meet on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:30 PM.

  • Missionary News

BRAZIL: The Jaraguá Mission Church in Uberlândia, Brazil, will officially organize this past weekend, October 25-26.  Pray this congregation will grow and mature.  Ask God to bless the work of Lay Pastor Sérgio Lira.

MISSION FAMILY: Many missionaries have parents facing debilitating illnesses, life-threatening disease, and the typical physical limitations of aging.  Ask God to be close to missionaries whose parents are struggling.  Pray for friends and other family members to stand in the gap—meeting needs, providing information, and allowing the missionary to continue to serve as God leads.  Ask God to give missionaries wisdom, comfort, and peace.  Pray for parents of missionaries to have health, strength, and clear awareness of God’s presence in their lives.

STUDENT MISSIONS: E-TEAM (high school missions) and CMP (college missions) teams were assigned this week.  Ask God to begin, even as students open acceptance letters, to work in lives now—increasing their desire to know Him and make Him known to friends and family, as well as overseas.

MISSION FAMILY: Pray for expectant moms Alicia Crowe (November, Japan), Rachel (November, THP Spain), both due within the next couple of weeks.  Rachel needs the baby to turn or the doctor plans a C-section on Monday, October 28. Alicia has gestational diabetes.  Pray moms and babies remain healthy.  Ask God to provide safe deliveries.

CUBA: Pray for Ron Callaway (Welch College professor and former missionary) and David O. as they travel to and minister in Cuba, October 26-November 2.  David will teach at the Cedars of Lebanon Seminary and Ron will interpret.  Pray students will be attuned to hear and understand all that is taught and David will clearly communicate theological principles.

  • Bible Challenges

Bible Reading Challenge: Genesis 39:6-20

Bible Memorization Challenge: Galatians 6:7 (ESV)…7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

  • Pastor’s Note

It can be tough preaching on something that you don’t have, exactly, mastered.  Preaching on a topic like dealing with frustration means having plenty of opportunities to practice what you preach!   That’s exactly what these past few days have brought; opportunities.  I haven’t been peen perfect, but I have done better.  I hope you’ve been better at dealing with frustration, as well.

This next week we’re going to be looking at another area of life that is universal.  How are we to deal with temptations?  Everyone faces them, so how do we deal with them?  That’s what this next Sunday’s message will be touching on.  I hope you pray for me (and the rest of Sunday’s services) as we prepare for this week.  Pray that we’d listen to the voice of the Lord as He directs.  Pray that your own heart and mind will be prepared to receive the message that God sends.  Pray that God would be glorified in all that we do!

I hope to see you in church soon!
