Missionary News
Bulgaria: On October 14th, Josh and Lydia Provow began a Bible study with a group of English speakers in a village with no evangelical church.  Ask God to use this 12-week study to form a group of believers who will reach their neighbors.

Stateside: Please join the Mission in 30 Days of Prayer and Fasting, running October 1st-30th.  Pray God will give our missionaries great discernment as they look for leaders to train and an unbending commitment to developing strong national leaders who in turn can train others.  If you are joining in a little late, you can view requests for all 30 Days or catch up on the individual requests and blogs.

France: Continue to pray for those at the St. Sebastién church who are reading through the New Testament in 90 days.  Ask God to use His Word to reveal sin, prompt confession and repentance, stimulate a desire for holiness and unity, and draw unbelievers to Him.  Pray especially for a Muslim student who is participating to be enlightened through the Word.

Globally: October is Pastor Appreciation Month.  As you celebrate your pastor’s ministry, pray for pastors worldwide.  Most serve while working full-time jobs.  Many are ridiculed for leading a Protestant church. Some are persecuted.  Ask God to protect them emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  Pray for time to prepare strong, biblical teaching.  Pray their family unit will be stable and healthy.  Ask God to help them resist temptation and to live godly lives filled with contentment, passion, and joy.

The Hanna Project: Chris and Tori and their children are scheduled to depart for Spain on October 27th.  Ask God to superintend all the details of the next two weeks as they finalize packing, say goodbyes, and prepare to move to Malaga.  Pray for wisdom, peace, and joy in the journey.

Bible Challenges
Bible Reading Challenge: Psalm 95:1-11

Bible Memorization Challenge: Psalm 95:1 (ESV)…Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Pastor’s Note
I know, if you’ve been paying attention, this newsletter looks slightly different from previous newsletters.  Due to some home improvement projects, I am working from home this week.  Which means I don’t have access to the normal template I use for the newsletter.  It may also mean that some of you are receiving this newsletter and didn’t want to, for that I apologize and I assure you next week we will be back to normal.

The new Pinewood Derby track is up and running, and ready for racing!  We will no longer be using a double-elimination system, so everyone will be participating in more races, and the results should be more fair.  Our timing system is now a state of the art professional system, and the track is much smoother and more consistent.  After the official racing, we will install the LOOP for some fun exhibition racing.

Over the next few weeks we will be looking at various aspects of Thanksgiving, as we approach one of the most important holidays on our calendar.

I hope to see you in church soon!
