FRANCE: Praise God for the successful Thanksgiving outreach at the Nantes church on Sunday, November 16th and for the Châteaubriant congregation’s Thanksgiving service and meal this past Sunday, November 23rd. Ask God to use this uniquely American event to draw people to the service and to introduce them to His mercy, grace, forgiveness, and love.
URUGUAY: Pray for Tammy Lancaster’s neighbor who has been hospitalized with a complicated pregnancy. Pray both she and the baby will remain healthy. Pray for Jaimie and Tammy as they demonstrate God’s love to this unsaved family.
JAPAN: Pray for the family of Sakai-San, who entered Heaven yesterday after a long battle with cancer. She has unsaved family members. Pray God will comfort them through His children and they will clearly see His love and mercy displayed.
FRANCE: Pray for Dennis and Carol and Joel and Lydie Teague as they finalize plans and logistics for the next JPense event, November 29th. Ask God to continue to bless this effort to present the gospel to people who are interested in spiritual matters but refuse to enter a church building. Pray for all those currently participating in discussion groups and Bible studies as a result of attending JPense. Praise God for the two young women who have accepted Christ as Savior, and pray diligently for those who are close to commitment.
SPAIN: Pray for pastors Jhon Fredy and his wife Lannah and José Manuel and his wife Carmen as they serve their churches in an extremely difficult economy. Ask God to provide their every need spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Pray for His hand to be evident in their lives as they demonstrate God’s love and faithfulness to those around them.
FRANCE: Pray for Becky Riggs as she and her sister work with their 93-year-old mom to determine the best way to provide her future care. Becky flew to the States last weekend. Pray for God’s direction, wisdom, and peace to permeate their decisions.
JAPAN: Josh and Alicia Crowe received word that their paperwork was not accepted and they have to restart the visa process from the beginning. Pray they will be able to gather all the documents needed, get everything submitted, and receive a positive response in a timely manner. They are scheduled to leave for Japan on January 20th.
TRAVEL: Pray for Clint Morgan and Curt Holland in Côte d’Ivoire as they meet with church leaders, celebrate the Doropo Hospital’s 50th anniversary, and return to the States on November 25th. Pray for Jeff and Susan Turnbough’s ministry in Uruguay and the mini-Leadership Matters Course they will hold for workers. They return December 3rd.
Bible Reading Challenge: Luke 1:1-80
Bible Memorization Challenge: Colossians 3:16–17 (ESV)…16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Well, it finally happened, I updated my office computer to the newest Windows operating system, and lost nearly everything. If you’re reading this newsletter, then I managed to find an e-mail address for you. However, I am thankful for this, as my e-mail program at the church had become bloated with numerous unused contacts, outdated accounts, and some accounts (website admin, mostly) weren’t even being checked! So, this is going to turn out for the best.
Since I had to rebuild nearly everything, I decided to give a little freshening to the newsletter. Hopefully, it will be pleasing to the eye, and still contain all of the same information. If I missed something, please let me know!
I was encouraged by our powerful services these past two weeks. Opening the altars so that people could come and share thanksgiving sticky notes has been very moving. As I shared in yesterday’s message, reading some of those sticky notes is a sure fire way to improve your attitude. I pray that you’ll have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday…and be thankful!
Thank you to all who helped with decorating the church for the Christmas season, it looks beautiful!
I hope to see you in church, soon!
