But I Don’t Feel Like It…

But It’s Too Difficult…

Missionary News
Stateside: Thank God for all those who participated in the World Missions Offering.  Pray for wisdom and guidance as funds are disbursed.

Côte d’Ivoire: Pray for Pastor Assebian of the Adobo Church in Abidjan.  He is extremely ill and has had several blood transfusions.  Praise God for restoring Pastor Jérôme to health.

Japan: Japanese believers will gather in Hokkaido, Japan, May 4th-5th for their national association and to celebrate 60 years of Free Will Baptist ministry in Japan.  The Japanese are the second largest unreached people group in the world.  Ask God to break down the ancient strongholds and modern barriers to the gospel in Japan.  Pray for Leroy and Fay Forlines as they travel to the convention and Brother Leroy speaks three times at the gathering.

France: Three people were baptized in the ocean on Sunday, April 27th.  Two women from the Saint Nazaire church and one young man from the Châteaubriant congregation publically professed their faith in Jesus as Savior.  Praise God for these three.  Pray for their continued spiritual growth.

Panama: General elections were held Sunday, May 4th, in Panama.  Panamanians will select a new president as well as all members of the National Assembly and other government officials.  Ask God to move and place in power those who will allow the gospel to spread freely.

France: Praise God for around 100 attendees at J’y Pense last weekend, April 25th-26th.  The gospel was presented, with many hearing it for the first time.  Pray these young people will follow up with group studies where biblical answers to life’s tough questions will be discussed.   Pray for Joel and Lydie Teague and others who will lead these studies to have wisdom, strength, health, and grace.

Uruguay: Pray for Jaimie and Tammy Lancaster as they are preparing to invite people to a home Bible study.  The goal is to begin a new church in the neighborhood in which they live.  Ask God to soften hearts, provide good relationships and conversations, and give wisdom to the Lancasters.

Pastor’s Note
I sent out a pfree_gift_imageraise item on Central’s Facebook page last week…did you see it?  We have seen FIVE people receive Jesus as their Savior over the past month.  As I said in that post, if that doesn’t raise your excitement level, then you don’t know Jesus!  If you do know Jesus as your Savior, then the reality of five more people coming to faith in Him is exciting news.  It’s what we’re supposed to be about.  In fact, if we lose sight of that, then we lose sight of the mission to which we have all been called.  My prayer is that we will continue to lift up the name of Jesus, telling people who He is and what He’s done.  We need to look for more ways to share Jesus with more people…we need to look for more ways to reach out and love people as Jesus has loved us.

Don’t forget, next weekend is Mother’s Day.  What special thing do you have planned for the weekend?  If you don’t have any ideas, let me give you a clue…ask your mother what she wants!  I know, that’s pretty radical, but it often works.

Keep the Advisory Board in your prayers as we seek to clarify Central’s mission and vision moving forward.  It is an exciting time to be a part of Central Church, pray that God will direct us.  Pray that God will direct you in what part He wants you to play…

I hope to see you in church, soon!
