What an amazing end to last week, and a wonderful beginning to this week!
First, a hearty “Thank You” to all who prayed for me as I was privileged to speak at the Kansas State FWB Men’s Retreat last Friday and Saturday. It was an awesome experience, as we worshipped together and I was allowed to share God’s word with those men. I made some new friends, and am praying that God will continue the work He began this past weekend. As of last night, four men had committed to confessing and repenting of addictions to pornography. They are seeking assistance from their pastors, friends, and wives in order to continue the fight against this addiction. One young man had confessed to allowing himself to get caught up in demonic, occult practices. He is also seeking assistance from his pastor and Christian friends as he still feels the pull of that dangerous world. We had many men coming to the altar seeking the Lord so that they could become the leaders in their homes, churches, and communities that they need to be.
Yesterday’s message was a great way to start a new week. Remember, as a believer, follower, and disciple of Jesus Christ your sins are forgiven. As Satan tries to remind you of how horrible a Christian you are because of your sins, remind him that you’re forgiven. As a disciple of Christ, we are connected to Christ through His Spirit which has been given to us. Because of this connection, we can claim the same thing that Jesus claimed, “…the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me…” (John 14:30, ESV). Satan has no claim on someone who is a child of the Lord; that’s what we are if we have placed our faith in Jesus Christ. So, today, walk in that freedom from the guilt that forgiveness has given you. Be bold to share why you smile—you’re forgiven!
I hope to see you in church soon!
