If you have children in your life that you influence as either a parent or grandparent, then our upcoming District annual meeting is meant for you. On Saturday, February 3rd we will be meeting at the Beacon FWB Church in Raytown at 10:30 AM. Rev. Jimmy Holbrook will be presenting insights into parenting in the 21st century based upon his book Shelter: Being an Intentional Parent in a Random World.
Amazingly, Easter is only 11 Sundays away! This first quarter of the year is unusual in that it only has 12 Sundays, total; and Easter is on the first Sunday of the second quarter, April 1st. Look for information concerning our Easter plans to be coming out in the next few weeks, including choir schedules and plans for our Easter egg hunt and community breakfast.
Remember that you are meant to be the aroma of Christ to a world that desperately needs to be introduced to Jesus. The only effective way to acquire His aroma is to spend time with Him in prayer and meditation on His word. So, whatever you did this past week isn’t the goal for this week. The challenge for this week is to carve out even more time for reading and studying the Bible, and even more time for prayer. Sharing the gospel isn’t an optional class, an elective, for this course of education called Christian life. It is a core discipline, so—what are you doing to be the church?
