Pastor’s Note
I have to admit; I have a cynical streak in me.  I can tend to be self-defeating with my commentary about myself.  Because I have this tendency I also can tend to be cynical and self-defeating concerning things I am involved in.  There are times when I am absolutely amazed by how things turn out.  Months ago we posted an opening concerning our search for a youth pastor.  I have to admit that I had just about given up hope…now we have a candidate who we are considering for the position!  It is far from certain that we will call this candidate as our youth pastor; however, we are making progress.  Pray for the Advisory Board as we prepare to conduct an interview with this candidate.  Pray for our candidate, that he would seek God’s will to determine whether or not to continue in this process.

Red and yellow warning triangle

This coming week we will take a look at the first of five major warnings contained in the Book of Hebrews.  I don’t know about you, but when someone warns me of impending danger, I take it seriously.  If that someone is God that is providing the warning, I think we should be very careful in how we approach it.  If God thinks that a warning is appropriate, then we better know that a very real danger is present.  So, as we approach this Sunday’s message, please pray for me as I prepare.  Also, pray for yourself and the other members of the congregation, that hearts and minds would be open to receiving the message.  We’ll take a look at another step in the Cure for the Common Church, it’s called Real Salvation.

I hope to see you in church soon!
