Our journey to look for the Cure for the Common Church continues. While the common church in America is declining or stagnant, that’s not what we at Central want to be. So, we’re looking for the prescription that leads to health.

I can hardly believe it…the year is already over ten percent over! 366 days in this year, and we’re well beyond 36 days into the year. Let me give you an update on what is ahead for us:
Look for a Quarterly Business meeting to be called in early April as we have some business matters that will need congregational action. As soon as we set a date for this, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, you can always look here for the most up to date information concerning church business matters.
We will begin planning for Vacation Bible School very soon, so look for more information concerning this coming out soon.
The biggest thing coming up this year, that I’m aware of, is our community outreach on July 16th. We are in the early planning stages for this event, but this is something that can make a huge difference for our church. We will have the assistance of a couple dozen volunteers from all over the country to help us in reaching our neighbors. Luis Guzman will be contacting some of you to ask for help in planning this event, I hope you’ll become involved as we seek to become the neighborhood church that supports families in their journey toward God’s will for their lives.
I also will be needing assistance from many of you, as Sharon and I are the Hospitality Coordinators for the upcoming Free Will Baptist national convention being held July 17-20, 2016 here in Kansas City. We need volunteers to man a couple of Hospitality Centers in Bartle Hall and the headquarters hotel downtown starting on July 16th. If you are willing to spend a couple of hours answering questions about Kansas City and the surrounding areas (we’ll make sure you have access to resources to help with this) please let me know ASAP.
We will continue our sermon series, The Cure for the Common Church all the way up until Easter. Speaking of Easter, it is only five Sundays away. Who are you planning on inviting to church for Easter? Most people who don’t attend church will come if they are invited. Start praying now for someone to invite to church on Easter. In the meantime, this coming Sunday I will be preaching about the most excellent thing that Jesus has done for us, it’s a sermon about What We Can’t Do.
I hope to see you in church soon!
