Pastor’s Note
Well, it has been several weeks since I managed to get a newsletter out on Monday, and I have now decided that Wednesday may be a better day, anyway.  This week’s reason is that both Sharon and I were sick on Monday and Tuesday, with me only leaving the house on Monday to get some necessary items as we battled a stomach bug/food poisoning.  We’re not sure what we had, but both of us came down with it—and it wasn’t pretty!

I am going to be making a new group on Facebook for prayer requests.  It will be a closed, invitation only, secret group.  That will allow those in the group to post prayer requests and to receive prayer requests via another medium.  If you desire to be added to this group, let me know!

We have seen some fairly impressive results from our live streaming services on Facebook.  With four weeks in the books, we have “reached” over 2,300 people.  Now, what does that mean?  That means that, on average, almost 600 people each week have at least seen these posts.  It doesn’t mean that they have watched the live stream, but it does mean that they are aware of the live stream.  Here’s what you can do to help with this process of reaching out.  If you have a Facebook account, share the live stream post on your own timeline.  By sharing the post, it will extend the reach, more people will see the post and perhaps listen to the message.  A simple step that could have monumental results—please share!

Mature students studying in a libraryWe will be finishing up the series Believer, Follower, or Disciple in a couple of weeks.  This week we will be focusing on what a disciple does.  It is really pretty simple, but it is also exceptionally difficult.  It requires us to dedicate ourselves to a singular purpose.  It requires us to be consistent and to be willing.  Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is the greatest challenge we will ever face, and doing what a disciple does, is always going to be hard work.  The reward, however, is out of this world!

Please keep the Advisory Board in your prayers as we continue to discuss our church health.  This topic is critical to the development of Central Church into a spiritually healthy church.

I hope to see you in church soon!
