Missionary News
The Châteaubriant congregation’s storefront building is transformed by a window display donated by a Michigan church. The display colorfully proclaims “Merry Christmas” in multiple languages and adds, “In every language, Christmas says God loves you. Unto us a Savior is born.” Pray all who walk or ride by the display will be drawn to the message of Christ.

Japan: Rusty and Brenda Carney (and children Grace and Kelton) are scheduled to depart for Hokkaido, Japan, Monday, December 8th. Pray for them as they say goodbyes, visit the Mission office (tomorrow, December 4), and travel. Ask God to help the children, especially, to travel well and to adjust to the northern Hokkaido winter as well as the Japanese culture and language.

Mission Family: Billie Sexton (former missionary to France) was hospitalized following a fall and a resulting small brain bleed in October. Praise God, she was able to go home and join family on Thanksgiving. Pray for wisdom for her neurologist and family members as they seek to understand and meet her needs.

Uruguay: Pray for an unsaved neighbor of Jaimie and Tammy Lancaster who has been hospitalized with her pregnancy. Ask God to open the woman’s heart and to give Tammy opportunities to share the gospel as she ministers to her friend.

Globally: As in the States, many people attend church activities during the Christmas season, people who will not enter the church other times of the year. Pray participants in Christmas events will serve the Lord gladly. Pray attendees will hear the message of God’s magnificent gift of salvation wrapped in His Child with open, expectant hearts. Ask God to build unity in congregations as they work together to share the gospel.

Bible Challenges
Bible Reading Challenge:

Pastor’s Note
Thank you to all who minister here at Central Church! As we conducted our annual business meeting yesterday afternoon, I was reminded of just how much service and work is done that never gets reported; how many miles are driven to pick up those who can’t make it here without a ride…how many meals are purchased for those who otherwise might go hungry…how many prayers are prayed and lives are touched; and none of it goes into the ministry reports. Central may not (yet) be as healthy as we would like it to be, but we also aren’t knocking on death’s door! The reports from yesterday’s annual business meeting are available by clicking here.

Christmas candlePray for the service this coming Sunday as we will be singing and preaching about the joy that is available to those who know Jesus. We will most likely have a few visitors as we celebrate our annual Christmas cantata, and we will also be celebrating a baby dedication at the conclusion of the morning service

I hope to see you in church, soon!
