We’ve started a new series of messages entitled Vital Signs. There are five vital signs that a Christian ought to check in their own personal spiritual journey. These vital signs will help us determine whether or not our spiritual life is as alive as it ought to be! It’s all found in the Book of James.
What’s Happening At Central Church
The Advisory Board will have a special meeting on Saturday, August 9th at 10:00 AM.
On Sunday, August 17th Central will host a group from Teen Challenge. Be prepared as we will take up a special offering for them as well as have a lunch with the group. Also, Central families are asked to bring side dishes/desserts for the lunch.
New updates next week!
Bible Reading Challenge: James 1:1-27
Bible Memorization Challenge: James 1:13 (ESV)…13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
I am excited about the upcoming months as Summer is winding down. That’s right, school is about to start again! With school starting back this month, we are also preparing for the activities here at Central that will be starting back up.
TruthSeekers will begin meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd. I’m praying for what God will do this year in our children’s lives through this ministry.
In September we will once again be feeding the high school football team a couple of meals, and pack snack bags for the marching band. Both of these ministries are opportunities to touch the lives of high school students in positive ways.
I’m also excited about the series of messages I will be preaching over the next three months, Vital Signs. I think this series will make a positive impact on all of us, as we check our own personal spiritual lives against the backdrop of James. It will be challenging, it will be convicting, and it will be difficult. James doesn’t waste any time getting to the heart of things. He doesn’t waste words trying to make flowery sentences. He says it like it is. This first phase of the messages will deal with the need to stand with confidence.
I hope to see you in church, soon!
