Our Messages
Does God still desire our obedience in this age of grace?  You better believe it!  That’s one thing that makes living a Christian life so difficult.

But I Don’t Feel Like It…

What’s Happening At Central Church
On Wednesday, April 30th, the Watoto Children’s Choir will be at Central Church.

Volunteers are needed for Wednesday, April 30th at 2:00 PM to help the Watoto crew setup for the concert.

Missionary News
Mission: Ask the Lord to provide wisdom and discernment for the International Missions Board as they meet next Monday through Wednesday (April 28th-30th).  Pray discussions and decisions made will reflect divine guidance and grace.  Pray for safety of travel, good health for board members, and minimal external distractions.

France: This past weekend, April 25th-26thJoel and Lydie Teague held the first J’y Pense (translated, I think about it) outreach.  Specifically designed for unbelievers to ask questions about God in a non-threatening atmosphere, the Teagues expected about 100 participants.  Ask God to move in a mighty way, to lead these young people to an understanding of the Truth that results in changed lives.

Creative Access: Praise God for the opportunity Shane had to share the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection with an immigrant friend last week.  Pray this young man will ponder the Scripture he read and the Truth will sink deep into his heart.  Ask God to give him the courage and desire to know more.

Japan: Mirial Gainer is recuperating from last week’s (April 22nd) surgery on her throat.  Pray the implant will be successful in restoring her voice.  Ask God to grant healing and keep infection at bay.  Pray Mirial’s testimony will remain vibrant and consistent as she witnesses of God’s love and power to all who minister to her physical needs.

Globally: Praise God for each person who attended Easter services in churches around the world.  Praise Him for those—both overseas and in the States—who entered the family of God.  Pray those who heard the gospel for the first time will be convinced of their need of Jesus Christ and come to faith.  Pray also for those who have heard Christ’s sacrifice proclaimed multiple times to recognize their need of Him.

Pastor’s Note
School is nearly over, and you know what that means?  VACATION!vacation

Vacation is a time for getting away from the routine of everyday life.  It is an opportunity to travel to places and experience things that you don’t get during the rest of the year.  It is meant to be a time for relaxation and recharging.  I fear that many Christians think that they should be allowed to take a vacation from serving the Lord.  Now, I’m not saying that Christians shouldn’t take vacations.  I’m taking my family away on a cruise in a few weeks.  We need some time to relax and recharge; to see and experience some exciting things.  But even though I will be on vacation, I don’t stop being a Christian.  I don’t stop being an ambassador for Jesus Christ.  I just may be doing it in shorts and flip-flops!

With that, don’t forget that there are still some events coming up here at Central that will need your support.  VBS is just around the corner, less than two months away.  If you haven’t yet volunteered for some part of VBS, you should let Jill Resendiz know how you can help.  The new school year will be starting soon, and with that we will be feeding the Bulldog football team and packing snack bags for the band.  We can always use some volunteers for those events.

We’ve had an exciting start to 2014.  At least four people have given their lives to Jesus Christ.  We’ve had one baptism, with the probability of several more.  I believe the Lord is still working in the hearts of some, and we’ll see more people accept Jesus this year than any year in the past decade.  The ministry of Central is reaching into people’s lives, and we’re seeing the real result!  Don’t miss out…don’t be “on vacation” as God is working!

I hope to see you in church, soon!
