What a wonderful day we enjoyed yesterday! The Egg Hunt was a success, with somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 eggs “hidden” outside. Thanks to all who helped with the Egg Hunt, you made it possible! Our community breakfast following the Egg Hunt was also a success. I’m not sure how many people we served, but having the breakfast allowed us to connect with a few people that we otherwise would not have been able to connect with. Thanks to the kitchen crew, and those who helped setup and clean up afterward! Services were powerful yesterday, weren’t they? I thought the choir sounded good, for as small a choir as we have we used our big voices. Thanks to all who sang, and to our choir leader! We had one person rededicate their life to the Lord during the service yesterday, so be praying for them to be consistent in their dedication to the Lord. A final “Thank You” to everyone who played a part in preparing for our Easter services and in working yesterday!
Our inaugural Maundy Thursday service was lightly attended, but still a wonderful time together as we celebrated with singing, a short devotion and feet washing. I’m looking forward to next years’ service, already!
Summer is nearing, and with summer come family vacations. As you travel, remember that you are the church. Wherever you go you represent the Lord Jesus and His church. Enjoy your time away, but don’t let that time away become a step away from the Lord.
Please keep the Advisory Board in your prayers as we deal with the health of the church. Also, please keep me in your prayers as I plan out the summer messages this week, prepare for this upcoming Sunday and finish up one of my last courses for my degree. It’s going to be a busy week!
If you invited someone to Central for Easter and they didn’t make it, don’t give up! Continue to pray for them and share with them your excitement about what’s going on here. If you’re excited about Central and what is happening that excitement will overflow into your invitation. If you’re not excited by the work of the Lord here then we need to talk! Remember, you are the church—so don’t be afraid to be the church!
