What’s Happening @ Central It was so good to see some of you returning to services yesterday! I look forward to seeing more of the church returning over the next few weeks as the pandemic appears to be winding down. This coming Saturday we will open The Fig Leaf to distribute clothing. I’m not sure how we will organize all of the racks (location, etc.) but I do believe the church is in good enough condition that we can open.…

What’s Happening @ Central Well, last week was another lesson in how the Midwest can be, destructive. On Monday, as several people were working on projects in the church, a severe thunderstorm blew through the area. During the worst of the storm, a lightning strike hit close-by. It was close enough that I thought I could hear (and feel) the sizzle of the static charge before the actual strike hit. My computer screen went black for a second before returning…

What’s Happening @ Central I am so glad we were able to have in-person services again. While the church restoration is going slowly (actually, not progressing at all currently) we will make it through, eventually. However, until we get to the end, we will need to allow for the inconvenience of a single restroom. While not ideal, it seems to be a workable solution, for now. What’s Happening @ Central I was reminded last week that God’s timing is perfect. Want an example to prove it? At the end of 2020, we decided to invest in upgrading our sound and video equipment. It was overdue, as we had not made a significant investment in this area since I have been at the church, other than replacing the sound board about 15-16 years ago after the existing board decided it was time to retire.
