As we approach Easter, we are looking at the words that Jesus spoke as He was on the cross.
What’s Happening At Central
The Advisory Board will meet on Monday, April 21st at 6:00 PM.
We will be collecting our annual World Missions Offering on Sunday, April 27th during the morning worship service.
On Wednesday, April 30th, the Watoto Children’s Choir will be at Central Church. We still need several host homes for this event (2-3 children plus an adult sponsor in each home).
Spain: Praise God, the Villalba congregation has received all the paperwork needed to legitimize their new building as a place of worship in Spain. They dedicated their building yesterday, March 30th. Pray God will use them to reach their community for Christ.
Brazil: Pray for those planting new churches in Brazil: Osmír and Maria in Campinas and Walter and Gilka in Limeira. Ask God to give them wisdom as they evangelize and build relationships. Pray for encouragement and fruit for their efforts.
Spain: Pray for Mick and Rachel as they completed teaching a budgeting workshop on March 27th; and now continue with distributing clothing and food to immigrants and others in need, teaching English, leading a Bible study, providing counseling, building relationships, and meeting the needs of three young boys. Pray the Holy Spirit will help their “busyness” be about His will for them.
Japan: Pray for Doug Bishop as he works with Pastor Ishii to translate and contextualize a book to help Japanese believers study the Bible effectively. Pray for clarity and effectiveness. Pray the book will strengthen Japanese believers’ confidence in Bible study and sharing their faith.
Stateside: Praise God for over 250 churches signed up to participate in this year’s World Missions Offering (WMO) on April 27. Pray for hundreds more to participate! Ask God to move, once again, on the hearts of Free Will Baptists so missionaries can labor overseas without financial concerns.
Uruguay: Steve and Lori Torrison are in Uruguay through April 1st, exploring the possibility of transferring there for ministry. Ask God to give them clear direction. Pray their presence will prove beneficial and uplifting to pastors and congregations they visit.
Stateside: Pray for missionaries on stateside assignment. Many speak in multiple services each week. Pray for good health, safety of travel, family unity, appropriate rest, and Spirit-guided words. Ask God to consistently encourage and strengthen them through their brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray missionary families will, in turn, encourage and edify the Body of Christ.
France: Correction—Last week, Hotline inadvertently reported Lydie Teague received her green card from United States Immigration Services. That occurred about a year ago. She had her citizenship interview with Immigration several weeks ago. Lydie participated in the Oath ceremony last Friday, March 21st. She is now a full-fledged U.S. citizen. Praise God this process is complete. Joel and Lydie returned to France, Monday, March 24th. Ask God to continue to bless their efforts as they share the gospel with young adults in France.
Bible Reading Challenge: Matthew 27:1-66
Bible Memorization Challenge: Psalm 22:22 (ESV)…22 I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you…
What a tremendous weekend we had here at Central! Our Pinewood Derby has been changing over the past few years. We have really sought to make it more of a community outreach, rather than just a fun day for our own children. This year we had a Christian race car driver share his testimony, and bring a real race car to Central. Joel McGill shared the Gospel message with all who were in attendance, and two children gave their lives to Jesus! We are looking at how we can make next year’s event even better…stay tuned!
Let me challenge you to think about who you can invite to services for Easter. It is only a few weeks away, on April 20th. It is a proven fact that people are far more likely to attend a service when they are invited by someone they know. Who do you know that needs to hear about Jesus?
I hope to see you in church soon!
