Bible Reading Challenge: Romans 5:1-11
Bible Memorization Challenge: Romans 5:11 (ESV)—More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
Yesterday was a good day, don’t you think? We were able to gather, freely, and worship God. We were blessed with a powerful message from Chris Davenport. We had a great choir practice last night, as we begin preparations for Easter. Put it all together and it comes down to a day filled with God’s blessings. We often forget that God’s blessings sometimes come wrapped as small things. His blessings aren’t always wrapped up as huge gifts. That’s what yesterday was like, at least to me. A series of small gifts, one after another, that when taken together make up a really good day.
I’m not completely sure, but I think that Daylight Saving Time caught some of our people off-guard yesterday. We had a lot of people not make it to church! For those that missed it, you can always go back and watch/listen to yesterday’s service on the church website. Just click this link.
Please keep the Celebrate Grandview planning group in your prayers. This has the potential of being one of the biggest outreach events we will do this year. Remember to mark your calendars to save the date, Saturday, June 10th! We will need some volunteers to help on that day as we set up, tear down, and clean up the grounds and church building.
Next week we will return to our series of messages on What Easter Brings. As we approach Easter, let me challenge you to prayerfully consider who you will invite and encourage to attend on Easter. Begin praying for them, now. Don’t wait until the last day. Surveys still show that the best way to get someone to attend a church service is for them to be invited! So, let’s take the challenge of yesterday’s message and put it into action! Pray, and then invite someone to service. If you get really brave, you can even share the gospel with them before they attend a service.
I hope to see you in church soon!
