Well, as you can tell, I didn’t get the newsletter sent out on Monday. Since it was a holiday, I decided to take a day off. Then Tuesday hit us, and I stayed home in order not to have to drive on slippery roads. However, I made it out late Tuesday evening (less traffic) and came to the church to find a parking lot covered in a sheet of ice—so no services today. That being said, Sharon and I needed groceries, so we decided to come by the church and wouldn’t you know—roads were mostly dry, but the parking lot still has plenty of icy spots. Since we were here already, I decided to stop and write the newsletter today.
We will be having lots of things going on over the next few weeks. Preparations for Easter followed by the Watoto Children’s Choir. If you’re looking for something to do, we will have plenty of opportunities for you to be involved. Specifically, the Watoto choir will need several host homes, with room for 1-3 children plus an adult chaperone from Watoto. The host family will need to transport the children and their chaperone home, after the choir presentation. The morning after the choir presentation, the host home will be responsible for breakfast for the children and their chaperone, as well as transporting them back to the church. If you can do this, please let Pastor Alan know, ASAP.
Also, with Easter approaching, the opportunities to invite those you know to come to a special service just opened up. Most people are more willing to visit a church when they are personally invited. Also, more people are willing to attend a church during the Easter and Christmas seasons than at other times of the year. So, one of the prime times for inviting people to church is almost upon us, and one of the main things people are waiting for is an invitation—all that we need to do is be willing to invite. Pray about who you should invite, not about if you should invite someone.
In the meantime—what are you doing to be the church?
